Automatic Fire Curtains

Automatic Fire curtains are designed to seal off an area to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading into other areas.

The automatic fire curtain is usually hidden within a false ceiling, only being deployed when there is a fire or for testing purposes.

Metal side guides fitted with a fabric retaining system provide a seal between the curtain and the building and it is imperative that this seal remains in place at all times when subject to the immense positive or negative pressure created by the fire.

This revolutionary product has been designed as an alternative to traditional steel shutters giving major advantages over the traditional steel shutters.

Automatic Smoke Curtains

Automatic smoke curtains, are smoke curtains installed above a false ceiling or on the under side of the floor slab, which lower to their operational position on receipt of a signal from the building smoke detection system.

The principle use of automatic smoke curtains is to prevent a building becoming smoke logged before the occupants have had time to escape. They can be used as barriers or channeling screens according to the design of the building and the requirements of the smoke extract system.

In addition to providing containment of smoke on the activation of the buildings detection system, a back up ensures that in the event of either power or systems failure the curtain is lowered.

This system has the ability to have a two-stage delayed descent facility. At the first stage, the curtain will descend to a set height for a set period then, if required, descend to the floor level.

Fixed Smoke Curtains

Fixed smoke curtains, are smoke curtains that are attached to the structure of the building. This is installed to act as a barrier, restricting the lateral spread of smoke and hot gasses along the underside of roofs, ceilings or balconies within buildings in the event of fire.

The smoke curtains create reservoirs from which smoke and hot gases can be extracted, or stop the spread of smoke, thus they can be used as part of an effective smoke management system.
